The Greek and Greek Cypriot community of Enfield offers ethnically sensitive care for the Greek speaking community in Enfield our Greek speaking carers provide high quality care to meet individual needs to enable people to live in the community longer. The HHCS scheme was set up in order to help the older community regain their independence following a stay in hospital. We currently have over 20 trained carers working within the organisation.

FREE SERVICE – for five weeks
Is offered by the Greek and Greek Cypriot Community of Enfield.
Who is Eligible?
Any patient of Greek or Greek Cypriot origin who is:
- Recently discharged from hospital
- From the London Borough of Enfield
- Over the age of 60 years
- A person living alone or whose partner is also older
- Needing short term care
- Not requiring a full Social Services package
How do I apply?
We will accept referrals by ward staff, doctors, social workers, hospital discharge officers, patients or their relatives. The package includes the following depending on patient's individual needs:
- Help with bathing
- Washing up
- Personal laundry
- Cooking of one meal
- Vacuum cleaning
- Sitting
Carers Project
Free - 63 hours a year.
Criteria:-
- You live full time with the person you are caring for
- You are either a carer who speaks Greek or you care for someone who speaks Greek
- You live the London Borough of Enfield
- You are not in full- time work
- You are of any age
How do we apply?
We will accept referrals from social services, relatives and self referrals.
